This means that: Factory faults are repaired at no cost to the client. The workmanship, construction, and all raw materials used for repairs are included. This Guarantee does not include fair wear and tear or coverings of any type.

CLEANING AND CARE FOR YOUR FABRIC SUITE:

PROPER CLEANING AND CARE FOR YOUR UPHOLSTERED FURNITURE MAINTAINS ITS VALUE.

Due to body heat, moisture and the physical strain applied to fabric upholstered seating, it is normal for the cover material to stretch sometimes quickly. Stretching does not represent a quality defect but are characteristics typical of upholstered furniture. There are however steps that can be taken to help maintain the appearance of your upholstery and minimize stretching.

• Avoid sitting in the same position every time. No matter how well made, if the same spot is used constantly, this area will stretch and wear more quickly.
• Avoid jumping on the furniture and do not throw yourself violently onto it.
• Do not sit on the arms and/or back.
• Do not drag the furniture over rough surfaces. If the furniture must be moved, it must still be lifted and not pushed, even when on smooth surfaces.
• Do not pull the furniture by the arm to avoid breaking the stitching.

SPOT CLEANING:

The golden rule for removing a stain is to act quickly!

Most spots will vanish if they are treated immediately, and care not allowed to dry in.

• First, mop any excess liquid or semi-solids with white absorbent cloth tissues (colored tissue might stain fabrics).
• Scoop up any dry solids with a spoon or the back of a knife inwards from the edge of the stain to prevent spreading.
• Use small amounts of warm soapy water at a time and frequently blot between applications.
• When an overall soiled condition has been reached, use a professional furniture cleaning service.

THE GOLDEN RULE:

• NEVER apply anything to your suite other than clean, warm water on a clean, soft cloth.
• This means NO chemicals, household cleansers, or dish washing agents, ever.
• If your couch needs to be cleaned, we suggest you contact a professional upholstery cleaner. Dirty marks can be cleaned with upholstery cleaner at your own risk.

OTHER GUIDELINES:

• Regular cleaning is essential.
• Vacuum or dust the suite as part of your regular household cleaning routine.
• Even light dust and dirt will increase wear on the fabric and can dull the colors, giving a faded appearance.
• Occasionally vacuum your upholstery and go over it with a soft brush. Never use a stiff fiber or metal brush as this will damage the fabric.
• Zips are fitted on many cushions to aid manufacture only; covers are not designed to be removed.
• Wipe any spills or liquid immediately; do not let them sit. In most cases, this should only require a damp cloth.
• Always take care to dab, NOT rub each stain delicately.
• Clean the stain by adopting a circular movement, working from the outside towards the center.
• If your cushions are fibre filled, restore the original shape by flipping and ‘puffing out’ the cushions and pillows regularly. Furniture with a high fabric pile can become flattened in pressure areas such as the armrests. After a while you will notice the foam in the seat cushions will soften by at least 20% of its original hardness … enjoy the comfort of furniture that is now ‘worn-in’.
• Fabric and leather on the seats will stretch over time, this can be rectified by smoothing out the high use areas on a regular basis.
• Wring out excess water before using the cloth or sponge and pat the area afterwards with a dry towel.
• Don't expose your suite to direct sunlight, and don't place heaters close to your couch.
• Wherever possible protect it by drawing curtains or blinds.
• Do not attempt to wash your furniture. This can cause colours to bleed and if the padding becomes damp, staining and interior damage can result.

A FEW DON’TS”

• Do not use ammonia, bleach or other solvent based cleaners intended for hard surfaces.
• Do not over wet the fabric and avoid pressing liquids through the fabric.
• Do not brush the fabric, rather vacuum with a bristle free nozzle.

CARING FOR YOUR LEATHER /  LEATHER UPPER SUITE:

Genuine Leather Areas: (arms, back, seat) - “active areas”

• This leather should be wiped regularly with a dry soft cloth to prevent the accumulation of dust.
• Never use detergents to clean leather.
• Dab spills immediately with a soft dry absorbent cloth.
• Leather finish is sensitive to light; please keep away from windows and areas with direct sunlight. Don’t place heaters close to your suite.
• Care should be taken to ensure that the leather does not become over-wet.
• A specialist in leather cleaning should be consulted for professional advice on stain removal.

Please note: Your recliner is Corrected grain Genuine Leather. (Contact areas) Natural leathers can be treated, but Corrected Grain Leathers use a polyurethane coating on the surface to achieve the different colors and dyes on the raw hide to get the colour throughout the hide. This polyurethane does not need treating to prevent cracking and can in fact be damaged by strong cleaning materials.

Synthetic Areas:

Dust regularly with a soft damp cloth.

Dirt can be removed by washing with warm water and soap.

DO NOT use any leather treatment on these synthetic areas.
