RETURNING PRODUCTS THAT ARE NOT DEFECTIVE:

Couch Comfort is committed to service excellence. We respect consumer rights, and you have the option to return defective goods. We want to make your customer experience as enjoyable as possible. If you have purchased any goods and are having problems with them, please contact us so that we can investigate and correct any problems you are having.

We will NOT refund or replace a product if, in our reasonable opinion, the product has become of unacceptable quality after the sale to you due to normal wear and tear, misuse, failure to use in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, use in an abnormal manner, or failure to take reasonable care of the product.

If you wish to return your product/s for any reason, you (the customer) may do so within 7 days of the product being delivered to you.

To log a return online, please send an email to returns@couchcomfortwarehouse.co.za with pictures of the items you wish to return/exchange and a reason for the return/exchange.

We will review your request within 72 hours of submission and contact you to make any necessary arrangements.

  • Handling charges will apply to non-defective products. This amount will be deducted from the refund/credit. The charging fees will be emailed to you.
  • If you used a free delivery promotion and your order was delivered for free, you will be responsible for the cost of returning the products to us. The cost will include a delivery fee for the initial order, a collection fee equal to the delivery charge in your area, and any handling fees that may be applicable as described above. These will be subtracted from your refund.
  • The consumer has a “cooling off period” of 7 days under the ECT Act, which gives the consumer a general right to return or cancel the transaction, without penalty, however, the online shopper would still be liable for the cost of returning the goods if they were dispatched/ shipped within the 7-day period. The cost will be the delivery charge for your area plus any admin fees imposed at Couch Comfort’s discretion. If the customer took advantage of a free delivery promotion, this remains true. This does not apply if the products have been assembled, partially assembled, or discarded from their original packaging.
  • Couch Comfort reserves the right to refuse the return of products that have been assembled, partially assembled, or discarded from their original packaging. Returns of such products may incur charges at the discretion of Couch Comfort.
  • If the original packaging has been discarded, it is your (the customer’) responsibility to ensure that the goods are adequately packaged and protected before returning them. Damages caused by missing or insufficient packaging / protection will result in additional charges that the customer will be responsible for at Couch Comfort’s discretion.
  • A quality control inspection can take up to 5 working days.
  • Refunds can take up to 7 working days to process & an additional 5 working days to reflect in your (the customer’s) bank account.


RETURNING PRODUCTS THAT ARE DEFECTIVE / DAMAGED:

WHEN A PRODUCT IS DELIVERED DAMAGED:

You have the right to refuse delivery of any product that appears to be damaged. You must state unequivocally on the delivery note that you have not received the goods and provide a brief description of the damage. The driver/ delivery company will return the product/s to Couch Comfort / our manufacturers for repair. Please notify Couch Comfort right away.

We recommend you take pictures and videos and email them to returns@couchcomfortwarehouse.co.za with your sales order number. Include a copy of the notes you made on the invoice.

If you do not note the reason for rejecting the goods and the nature of the damage on the invoice and you keep the goods, we are entitled to regard the goods as if they were in good condition and not damaged when delivered to you.

It is the responsibility of the Customer to thoroughly inspect all goods upon delivery before signing that they have been received.

Couch Comfort will always make every effort to resolve issues with damaged items as quickly as possible.

If our delivery crew damages your property, please send photos and details of the damage to return@couchcomfortwarehouse.co.za for an assessment. Please expect a call from us to discuss the way forward.

DAMAGE AFTER DELIVERY:

If damage to a product or products becomes apparent after delivery, you have 24 hours to notify Couch Comfort.

It is the responsibility of the Customer to thoroughly inspect all goods upon delivery before signing that they have been received in good condition.

As a result, if defective parts are not reported before transporters leave the client’s premises, the client may be liable for any transportation costs.

The following applies:

  • Couch Comfort cannot be held liable for any damages visible at the time of delivery that were not noted and indicated on the customer’s proof of receipt/ delivery.
  • If damage is reported after 24 hours, Couch Comfort can reasonably conclude that it occurred after delivery.
  • If the customer causes damage to the product during assembly, Couch Comfort will not be liable for the damage and will not be held liable for a return or refund.
  • If the product is found not to be defective after inspection, you (the customer) will be responsible for all transportation costs as well as discretionary handling / administration fee. The product will be returned in the same packaging in which it was received by Couch Comfort.
  • If the original packaging has been discarded, it is your responsibility (as the customer) to ensure that the goods are reasonably packaged and protected before being returned.
  • Damages caused by missing or inadequate packaging/protection will result in additional charges that the customer will be responsible for at Couch Comfort’s discretion.
  • Quality control inspection can take up to 5 working days
  • Refunds can take up to 7 working days to process & an additional 5 working days to reflect in your (the customer’s) bank account.
  • We are entitled to request images of the damage products before collection of the products.
  • We have the right to request images of the damaged products prior to collection.
  • Any exchanged items will be delivered to the delivery address specified on the original order. If the exchange address differs from the original delivery address, it is the customer’s responsibility to notify Couch Comfort.

To log a return, please send an email to returns@couchcomfortwarehouse.co.za with pictures of the items you wish to return/exchange and a reason for the return/exchange.

We will review your request within 72 hours and contact you to make any necessary arrangements. Please contact Couch Comfort immediately to report any problems.

CANCELATIONS

We want to ensure your comfort and peace of mind when shopping with Couch Comfort, so we have included a Cancellation Policy in our Terms and Conditions. Any unused, still-packed item purchased from Couch Comfort and packed in its original packaging can be returned within 7 days of purchase.

If an online order has not yet been processed, it can be canceled. Within 30 days of canceling the order, you will receive a full refund of the purchase price.

You have 7 working days after the goods are collected or delivered to you to cancel your order.

The following applies:

  • Within 30 days of canceling the order, you will receive a full refund of the purchase price.
  • The Goods must not be used and must remain unassembled, in the original packaging
  • The goods being returned will be assessed and handling charges will be applicable before the refund is processed. A discretional handling / administration fee will be charged. This amount will be deducted off the refund / credit.
  • For online purchases made at Couch Comfort, you will be liable for the direct costs of returning the goods, such as courier and/or shipping charges, under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (as amended from time to time). These expenses will not be reimbursed to you.
  • If you used a free delivery promotion and your order was delivered for free, you will be responsible for both the initial cost of delivery and the cost of having the product returned to us. The cost will be the delivery charge applicable to your area, a collection fee that is also the delivery charge applicable to your area, and any handling fees that may be applicable in accordance with the foregoing. These will be subtracted from your refund.
  • If the goods have been assembled or partly assembled, the cancellation policy does not apply, and goods may not be returned
  • Couch Comfort reserves the right at all times to have a company appointed or manufacturer representative inspect the item before considering a refund, repair, or replacement.
  • Please keep in mind that your right under this clause to cancel your order for goods without penalty does not apply if the goods were made to your specifications or are clearly personalized.
  • If your order has been processed and dispatched from the warehouse but has not been delivered to you, you may cancel the order however you will be responsible for the cost of having the product returned to us. The cost will be the dispatch/ delivery fee for delivery of the initial order and a return fee which is equivalent to the delivery charge in your area and any handling fees. These costs will be deducted from the refund.

We will not accept cancellations when:

In our reasonable opinion the product has become of unacceptable quality due to fair wear and tear, misuse, failure to use in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions, used in an abnormal way or failure to take reasonable care of the product.

LATE DELIVERIES:

If you have not received your delivery within the time frame specified, you may cancel your order.

Should you be entitled to a refund for any reason as stated above, we will process your refund according to your original method of payment.

DELIVERY:

  • Once the goods have been delivered an inspected, we require the delivery document be signed by the customer or any authorized representative of the customer to indicate that each item has been received in good order. It is the responsibility of the customer to thoroughly inspect all goods upon delivery before signing that they have been received.
  • Couch Comfort cannot be held liable for any damages that aren’t marked clearly on the delivery note.
  • We currently do not deliver across the border or do international deliveries. You can arrange to collect from one of our stores.
  • Working days are defined as Mondays to Fridays. Excludes Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. Should you require delivery on a weekend, please contact us before you complete your order / check out on 072 054 6359 and we can see if we can assist.
  • We will deliver the goods to you as soon as reasonably possible.
  • We will notify you if we are unable to deliver the goods during the time frame that was given to you. If you elect not to proceed with your order, we will reimburse you with the purchase price within 30 days of having informed you that we are not able to deliver.
  • Couch Comfort is not responsible for any loss or unauthorized use of a product/s, after it has been delivered the product/s to the physical address supplied by you during the checkout and payment process.
  • Delivery Time:

We will forward your order to the production teams at our various suppliers as soon as we receive it. Depending on your purchase, the production time varies. Each supplier has a different waiting period. If your order is shipped before or after the specified date, we will notify you. Couch Comfort will not be held liable for products shown on this website that are no longer available in stores or have been discontinued.

Please note that delivery times are estimates and although we work closely with our delivery partners to get your order to you as soon as possible, certain factors may cause your delivery to be delayed.

COLLECTION:

  • The person collecting must present the original Couch Comfort invoice at time of collection.
  • Couch Comfort will let you know when your order is ready for collection.
  • Please notify the warehouse or showroom prior to collection.

GUARANTEES:

Couch Comfort only deals with well-known brands that adhere to the highest manufacturing quality standards. This is why, for a period of time determined by the manufacturer, every product sold by Couch Comfort is backed by a manufacturer’s warranty against any defective workmanship or materials. This time frame will include a guarantee period and a warranty period.

Please allow for up to two weeks for evaluation of your claim which may include an inspection of your goods. You will need to keep your proof of purchase, product guarantee or warranty card in a safe place.

CLAIMS:

Please follow the steps below:

Step 1: Contact Couch Comfort to report the issue.

Step 2: We will request further information and photos to be sent via e-mail.

Step 3: Depending on the validity of the claim we will arrange to collect the products, or for the product to be returned to the store for inspection.

Step 4: Once goods have been received the quality control department will inspect them.

Step 5: If approved we commence with replacement, repair, or credit / refund, which may take up to 7 working days.

PRODUCT ASSEMBLY:

  • Most products are delivered unassembled. Assembly instructions for these products are provided.
  • Assembly services are available at an additional charge. Please contact us before purchasing a product.
  • Unfortunately, assembly is not available for all delivery areas.
  • Assembly may carry an additional charge.
  • Should you require assembly after your order has been delivered, please contact us and we can arrange (if assembly is available in your delivery area). Additional delivery charges and assembly charges will apply.
  • No refunds will be issued for customers advising that they were not aware of the products being delivered unassembled.
  • If the goods have been assembled or partly assembled, the Refund and Cancellation policy does not apply (please view detailed Returns Policy).
  • If damage occurs to the product during assembly by the customer, Couch Comfort will not be liable for the damage and will not be held liable for a return or refund.
